How will the altitude affect me?
At 8,000 feet, Aspen is quite literally breathtaking. It’s normal to feel lightheaded, more easily fatigued and experience shortness of breath at this elevation. For this reason, it’s crucial to stay hydrated and take it a bit slower on caffeine and alcohol when you first get into town. Some more tips on how to best navigate the altitude can be found HERE. There’s also a local Rescue Lounge if anyone feels they need an immune boost or extra hydration.
What is the temperature like?
The early Spring in Aspen is a period of increasing temperatures, though the weather can fluctuate significantly. However, Aspen's weather is highly variable hour to hour. Mornings can start out with temperatures in the high 20s, rising to the low 50’s during the day and as soon as the sun goes down the temperatures will drop sharply. We encourage packing layers and warm outerwear, hats and gloves. The sun is also much stronger at the higher elevation, so make sure to wear sunscreen!
Where should I stay?
Whether you will be renting a house or staying in a hotel, we strongly recommend staying in downtown Aspen as all wedding events will take place here. The town is very walkable with access to shopping, restaurants, skiing AJax, hikes and trails.
While Snowmass Village it is a great place to stay for a ski weekend, we do not recommend you stay there for our wedding weekend as getting to/from downtown Aspen will be at least a 20-minute drive and transportation costs will vary based on the availability and mode of transportation (starting between $30-$50 per trip).
How do I get around?
The City of Aspen offers free shuttle routes on RFTA busses that will take you to the trail head, the ski lift and to everything else Aspen/Snowmass has to offer. Find details, times and running dates by clicking HERE.
Aspen also has a complimentary car service available through the Ride Downtowner app to get you around town, and most hotels provide complimentary transfers throughout Aspen’s downtown area as well however, ride sharing apps such as Uber and Lyft are not easily accessible and should not be relied upon. High Mountain Taxi is the local cab service for Aspen/Snowmass. The majority of hotels in Aspen, including St. Regis and The Gant offer complimentary airports transfers, be sure to reserve with your hotel property directly.
Spa Services in Aspen?
For anyone in need of spa services, we recommend the RAKxa Wellness Spa at the St. Regis, and for hair and make up services Salon Tullio or Full Circle Aspen. Appointments are encouraged.
Are children invited to join the celebration?
Although we love your little ones, we can not accommodate children at any of our wedding events.
